Every season, we meet talented young baseball players with big dreams but without the financial means to participate. Global Baseball Adventures and YES believe money should never be the reason a child misses out on the chance to play, serve, and grow through this life-changing baseball and softball experience in the Dominican Republic
With your donation, we can change that.
YES and Global Baseball Adventures are teaming up and are proud to be providing scholarships for low-income youth in Sonoma and Marin Counties, giving student athletes the opportunity to participate in baseball and softball trips that go far beyond the field! These experiences allow young people to grow as global citizens, engage in meaningful service, and build leadership skills both on and off the field.
In 2025, YES awarded scholarships to four exceptional players, making it possible for them to take part in these truly transformative adventures.

Mission Statement
We exist to level the playing field for promising baseball and softball players who lack the means to participate in transformative international athletic experiences. Our mission is to remove financial barriers so talented young athletes can pursue high-level baseball and softball opportunities in the Dominican Republic. We provide scholarships, resources, and access to competitive training, cultural immersion, and meaningful service—ensuring that ability, passion, and work ethic, not family income, determine a child’s opportunities on the field, in the world, and in life.
Need Background
For many families, the cost of international baseball programs is simply out of reach. Fees that soar into the thousands create a line that separates those who can play from those who cannot. But talent is not defined by wealth—and yet opportunity is.
Your contribution changes that reality. These costs run $4,400 per child, disproportionately limiting access for low-income families. Participation in Global Baseball Adventures programs includes:
- Club/team fees
- Uniforms and equipment
- Tournament travel
- Training camps and specialized coaching
These costs create inequity, and disproportionately limiting access for low-income families. As a result, many gifted or simply enthusiastic athletes are excluded from development pathways that lead to high school excellence, college recruiting opportunities, and long-term personal growth.
Our Solution
We will provide comprehensive support to deserving athletes who demonstrate ability, commitment, and financial need. This will fund 5 full scholarships or up to 10 partial scholarships. Our program can include:
- Full or partial club scholarships for Global Baseball Adventures trips to the Dominican Republic
- Equipment and uniform stipends
- Travel assistance for tournaments and showcases
- Academic and athletic mentorship
- Recruiting support for athletes pursuing collegiate opportunities
Your tax-deductible donation, whether one-time or monthly, goes directly to athletes who otherwise couldn’t attend. We stretch every dollar to remove barriers and get support where it matters most.
By removing financial barriers, we enable athletes to compete, develop, and thrive in environments traditionally inaccessible to them.
Program Objectives

Target Population
Our scholarships benefit middle school and high school baseball and softball players from Sonoma and Marin Counties who demonstrate:
- Families experiencing financial hardship, A household income must fall below the HUD Fair Market Rent (FMR) limits for our county. Marin below $154,700 a year or Sonoma below $120,900 a year.
- Youth athletes ages 12–18
- Athletes with skill, coach and or club recommendations, and strong commitment to growth
- Strong character, work ethic, and desire to give back
Implementation Plan
- Athlete Identification & Outreach
- Partner with athletic clubs, schools, community centers, and coaches to identify candidates.
- Host open tryouts and evaluation clinics.

- Holistic review considering talent, need, commitment, and character.

- Collaborate with club programs to secure roster spots.
